Farra Trompeter has more than 15 years of experience in communications and fundraising for nonprofit organizations. Farra is Vice President of Client Relationships + Strategy at Big Duck (www.bigducknyc.com), a communications firm that works exclusively with nonprofit organizations to transform the way they communicate. Farra’s expertise focuses on helping nonprofits use the Internet (social media, websites, email, etc.) to increase visibility and connect with donors, activists, and other stakeholders.

Farra previously led the online engagement unit at Douglas Gould and Company and was a Senior Account Executive at Donordigital, one of the top consultancies that specialize in online marketing, fundraising, and advocacy for nonprofits, including American Lung Association, US Fund for UNICEF, and Girl Scouts of the USA. Before Donordigital, she managed online marketing efforts for several national public health education initiatives of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Farra has also coordinated the direct mail campaigns for the National Breast Cancer Coalition and telemarketing efforts for Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Farra actively serves on the board of the New York City Anti-Violence Project and is a frequent presenter at conferences and trainings organized by the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN), Association for Fundraising Professionals, and the Support Center for Nonprofit Management. Farra is a part-time faculty member at Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy, where she will be co-teaching a class about Online Engagement for Nonprofits in Spring 2010. She also holds an M.S. degree in nonprofit management from The New School.

On Thursday, August 20th, Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, PA Law Office’s hosted a Silver Knight Alumni Legacy Network event where over 50 Silver Knight Alums gathered to meet, greet and socialize. Silver Knight Alumni Jimmy Morales, Gerry Greenberg, and Ana Rodriguez all spoke at the event with Gerry and Ana focusing on having 2 Silver Knight winners in the family passing the honor from generation to generation. Stay tuned for more Silver Knight Alumni Legacy network events to meet fellow Silver Knight Alumns and to learn of interesting current events!
